Beyond my performance and teaching work, I am also an experienced theatrical musician, having performed both on stage and in pit bands. I am a versatile woodwind instrumentalist, comfortable on all members of the saxophone family, clarinet and flute. Below are some of the shows I have performed in over the years.

GROOMED

As part of an on-going collaboration with acclaimed theatre director, Patrick Sandford, we have been performing the multi-award winning show ‘GROOMED‘ for a number of years. It is a powerful story of survival and acceptance that never fails to entertain and educate. It is directed by Nancy Meckler and the music is composed by Simon Slater.

We Happy Few

‘We Happy Few’ is a 2004 play by Imogen Stubbs. It follows a group of female actors touring Shakespeare plays around the United Kingdom during World War II. It is based on the real-life touring group, the Osiris Players. During its latest run at the Malvern Theatres, I acted on stage and arranged musical numbers to be performed by myself and a singer. Following a successful run in Malvern, the show toured down to Brixham for a couple of performances also. This thoughtful, stirring work shines a searchlight into quite a few areas. There is tragedy, loss, fear of loss, and the inevitable bereavement. But the dominating factor is the one at which the British excel – let’s all muddle through, hope for the best…
